Cheryl Cole has said that she felt proud when she heard that she had inspired a fan to lose weight.

Speaking to the Sunday Times’ Style magazine, she said that one of her fans told her how she kept a picture of the popstar pinned to her refrigerator to give her an extra impetus to stick to her weight loss plan.

The star said that when she thought about what she wanted to inspire women to do, it was to make the most of themselves. She said she wanted her inspiration to women to be “To make the best of themselves. Like, one woman said to me, ‘I’ve got you on my fridge door to inspire me to go to the gym,’ and I felt like that about Britney when she did ‘I’m A Slave 4 You’.

Cole is extremely slim and her beauty has certainly helped further her career. She was recently voted FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World and has won a prestigious contract with L’Oreal, which saw the iconic phrase ‘Because you’re worth it’ uttered in a Geordie accent.

Currently touring with the Black Eyed Peas, she has been linked to their singer Will.I.Am, who is said to be besotted with her.

Cheryl’s own figure has been a source of much interest and speculation in the tabloids. At the start of May, she revealed that she follows a weight loss program popular with Hollywood stars like Jennifer Aniston, Eat Right 4 Your Type .

She said the weight loss plan has not only made a difference to her figure but has impacted on her sense of wellbeing, commenting, “Eat Right 4 Your Type has made such a difference – not so much to my shape but to how I feel and my energy levels.

“Before, I was like ‘energy schmenergy’ and didn’t believe it. But now I believe it 100%.”

The weight loss plan is fairly faddy, with followers eating according to their blood type. So, if your bloody type is A, you are meant to mostly eat a vegetarian diet and do light exercise, like yoga. If your type is O, then you eat lots of meat, little grains and do lots of exercise.

The star’s weight over recent months has caused some concern, with friends expressing concern over the rapid weight loss that followed her split from footballer Ashley Cole, who is believed to have cheated on her.

She has just filed for divorce, opting not to challenge him for anything but rather keep the split as clean and quick as possible. The divorce is expected to go though before Cole appears as part of the England squad in South Africa this summer to play in the World Cup.
